Job Overview :

A well-established and growing immigration law firm in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area is seeking a qualified Immigration Attorney with experience in asylum and removal defense. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a caseload, supervise staff, and advocate for clients before DHS, DOS, and EOIR. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, legally astute, and committed to client service within immigration law.

Location : Columbus, Ohio

Duties :

Manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters with a focus on asylum and removal defense
Supervise and train legal support staff and paralegals
Prepare and submit filings to DHS, DOS, and EOIR
Draft and revise legal documents, including court pleadings and memoranda
Conduct legal research and write motions and briefs
Appear at interviews, court hearings, and trials
Stay informed on changes in immigration law, policy, and judicial rulings
Support firm outreach efforts and help promote legal services

Requirements :

Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration law, especially in asylum and removal defense

Authorized to work in the United States

Must be able to start immediately or within 4 weeks

Education :

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications :

Active admission to the Ohio State Bar

Skills :

Strong legal research and writing proficiency

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Effective time and project management abilities

High attention to detail and accuracy

Collaborative team player with leadership capabilities
