Director of Research Development
Our client, an innovative and market leading specialist Flavors Ingredients group is recruiting this R&D Director that will report to the CEO.
You will play a vital role in developing and driving the divisional Product and R&D strategy. Managing a small R&D and applications team, you will drive knowledge and excellence in the application area to drive sales.
This role has very strong ties to the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure the right priorities are set and learnings can be shared effectively.
The business is looking for a passionate results-oriented leader, who will develop long-term R&D and applications roadmaps and relationships with key customers to ensure their successful application of products.
You will work with internal and external companies to fully understand the opportunity the ingredients deliver to the consumer whilst building deep technical understanding.
You will develop multiple 1 and 3-year plans for applications, developing the strategy to win and implement this to deliver growth.
You will also lead the development of application toolkits that support the commercial teams and increase the success of their customers, providing technical support when needed with key customers.
You will develop inhouse application capabilities and support all IP and Patent processes as required.
The preferred candidate will be an experienced B2B R&D leader currently in an a B2B Flavor and ingredients role with expertise in the value adding Ingredients sector.
You will have strong academics in Food Science with a outstanding experience across the ingredient / applications portfolio in a fast paced, entrepreneurial growth business.
You will need to evidence your close collaboration with Sales & Marketing teams, as well as sector knowledge and experience in Flavor / Dairy / Ingredient functionality and the ability to operate with multiple complex projects.
This will be a hybrid role but you need to live within commuting distance of the corporate location.
