The firm sources, trades, and supplies raw materials and finished goods to key industrial and commercial partners across North America.
Position Summary :
The Purchasing Manager will oversee all procurement activities for the company’s raw materials. This individual will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost efficiency, and optimizing purchasing strategies in a fast-moving, price-sensitive environment. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic sourcing expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of raw material purchasing and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and market conditions.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors and suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings and risk mitigation.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions to inform purchasing decisions.
- Oversee and manage inventory across all product lines
- Manage supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with trading, finance, logistics, and operations teams to forecast demand, align on inventory levels, and support production schedules.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to diversify the supply base and reduce exposure to single-source risks.
- Analyze and report key purchasing metrics, including cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of buyers or procurement specialists.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management—ideally manufacturing, or distribution sectors.Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and globally integrated environment.
