Join a top 10 global design firm in our Texas buildings practice that provides architecture, buildings engineering, and interior design services with a long history and deep commitment to the education sector. Our Plano office is seeking a project manager. The successful candidate will be leading clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning designs. Your experience ensures that you are familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates, and building codes. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, support continuous development of a building information model, prepare a variety of output / drawings throughout the project, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required under instruction from the principal in charge.
Your key responsibilities include :
- Managing complex tasks on multiple, large scope, or highly complex projects.
- Participating and helping to win work for potential projects via the interview process.
- Planning, organizing, and directing the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.
- Keeping the principal in charge informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Leading the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
- Assisting in the negotiation and development of project agreements.
- Developing and managing project budget, schedule, and overall work plan.
- Mentoring assistant project managers and motivating project teams.
- Assurance that project management framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
- Leading project coordination and owner / site meetings.
- Reviewing documents for accuracy, involved in the QA / QC process, and supporting or developing front end specifications.
- Managing and tracking change orders, applications for payment by contractors, and other contractual modifications.
- Working with operations manager in determining project staffing needs.
- Directing client invoicing and managing collections.
Your capabilities and credentials include :
Passion and experience in the education sector.Extensive project experience to support in the ability to win work during proposal responses.Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more principal's in charge on multiple projects.Excellent understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.Proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction or guidance.Effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities.Team player with the client, entire project team, and contractor.Excellent negotiator and communicator.Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma; preferred experience with Revit.Education and experience :
Master's degree in architecture or related field.Registered architect in the state of Texas is preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in architecture project management with a strong background in the education sector is preferred.
