About The Position

• Experience in an inpatient, locked unit
• Ability to float to Medical / Surgical if needed

Description :

Position available for a Psych Registered Nurse.

The shift is nights, working three 12-hour shifts per week.

There is a requirement for every other weekend.

Some holidays may be required, including two winter holidays and two summer holidays if applicable.

Previous charge experience is preferred.

Candidates must have experience with a patient ratio of 1 : 8 at night.

Familiarity with the Epic charting system is required.

Experience with crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and behavior management is necessary.

Skills in medication administration, including antianxiety, antidepressants, and antipsychotics, are essential.

Candidates should be knowledgeable about various mental health disorders including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD.

Candidates will work on a unit providing interdisciplinary support such as social services and pharmacy.

This role involves managing self-injurious behavior and adhering to seclusion protocols.

Candidates must be able to start and maintain IVs, monitor blood glucose, and perform NG tube insertion and management as needed.

Experience with suicidal behavior and substance use disorders is beneficial.

A commitment to patient care and teamwork is critical.
