Studio DIAA is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Seattle, WA. Designer Job Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Designer with at least 3+ years experience in architecture and interior design offices or equivalent to join our team. This role is essential in delivering integrated, high-quality design from concept development through final execution, bridging the technical precision of architecture with the detailed execution of interior design.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

This role requires a comprehensive skillset, bridging both the technical aspects of architecture and the detailed execution of interior design. You will :

  • Work in tandem with principal to create and deliver integrated design concepts from initial schematic ideas through final execution.
  • Prepare detailed design plans, construction documents, sections, and elevations using AutoCAD
  • Research, source, specify, and procure materials and furnishings based on client needs and project requirements.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, overseeing, and documenting all aspects of projects, ensuring awareness of project programming and deadlines .
  • Place orders for materials and coordinate delivery, storage, and installation logistics for interior elements.
  • Coordinate and converse with artisans, vendors, and consultants , effectively communicating desired technical and aesthetic specifications.
  • Ensure all design work adheres to relevant building codes and inspection regulations .
  • Manage the on-site install and completion of interior design elements .

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a design firm, preferably with experience spanning both architecture and interiors.
  • Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp .
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Excel .
  • Be comfortable hand sketching to quickly articulate design ideas.
  • Be able to readily capture the intended “look and attitude” that reflects company branding.
  • Highly motivated and capable of transitioning between multiple projects at any moment.
  • Be a strong communicator with great listening and people skills, comfortable coordinating with clients, vendors, and consultants.
  • Have a passion for creative design solutions and problem solving .
  • Must be aware of building codes and inspection regulations .
  • Must be open to feedback and instruction, and be willing to offer substantive input during design critiques.

    The candidate must be willing to relocate or be within the Seattle area.
