SCOPE

The CNC Machinist II will be responsible for set up and operations of CNC Mill and Lathe machines used in Manufacturing and Fabrication of aircraft / military components.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up Vertical, Horizontal, 5 axis Mills / Lathes under minimal supervision such as : Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, and OKK
• Have a good understanding of fixturing and tooling and be capable of performing setups independently
• Must be able to work from complex Blueprints and manufacturing sketches
• Uses a variety of measuring instruments in production to ensure parts are meeting Blueprint requirements
• Responsible for the quality of their product
• Responsible for meeting established cycle times
• Performs routine daily maintenance and housekeeping duties
• Utilize ERP system to accurately record labor hours and production quantity
• Suggests recommendations to Supervisor or Leads concerning process improvements, program edits and corrections needed to reduce set up times as well as improve cycle times
• Perform standard shop computations
• Understanding of lean and 6S concepts
• Follow Safety and FOD procedures
