Summary of Responsibilities
Our Project Manager will share our company values and have experience in carpentry, remodeling, or home building management, with a positive and flexible attitude. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role collaborates closely with vendors, clients, and team members to create a professional, high-quality experience for our clients.
The Project Manager oversees multiple projects with the support of carpenters, ensuring quality workmanship is delivered on time and within budget. This includes managing subcontractors and all phases of production—from foundations to trim-out. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential to coordinate labor, materials, and trades safely and efficiently while exceeding client expectations.
Essential Functions
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work on ladders up to 30 feet high and roofs up to 50 feet highAbility to use computer applications and willingness to learn new softwareInterpret, understand, and follow construction drawings to ensure successful project completionManage daily operations on the job site and provide daily updates in the Buildertrend applicationReport any conflicts between plans and site conditions to the Production Manager in a timely mannerRoutinely review production schedules and keep jobs on track and on timeVerify that correct selections are being installed or appliedCoordinate inspections and communicate results effectivelyFollow company SOPs with consistent, timely, and accurate submission of required administrative paperworkCustomer Satisfaction Responsibilities :
Conduct pre-construction conferences with clients, the salesperson, and the Production ManagerCommunicate with the client daily regarding schedule, cleanliness, changes, and any other concernsEnsure the job site remains hazard-free and clean at all timesRespond promptly to client questions and concernsProvide all change order information to the Production Manager for pricingConduct substantial completion walk-through meetings with the Production Manager to produce a punch listExecute punch list items prior to the final walk-through with the client, sales team, Production, and Project ManagersJob Site Supervision :
Allocate planning time to review all job plans, documents, and checklists prior to starting constructionBuild according to the intent of the drawings and request clarifications or missing information as neededInspect the project site to identify any existing damage or adverse conditions not covered in the contract; promptly report such findings to the Production Manager using the applicable form and document them in daily logsCreate and maintain a project schedule designed to complete the job on budget and on time; notify the Production Manager if this cannot be accomplishedMeet all commitments the company has made to the client as communicated in writing; notify the Production Manager if this cannot be achievedComplete evaluations, accident reports, and other documentation necessary for the accurate and organized operation of the companyComplete all required reporting and paperwork for job costing, change orders, invoicing, scheduling, planning, and personnel managementDevelop and maintain a safety program to ensure the safe operation of all production personnel and equipment, including reporting safety violations of personnel and subcontractorsReview daily job logs and labor and material reports with the team for accuracy in change orders and invoices to keep job accounting current and in line with company policyEnsure change orders and invoices are written in a timely manner for accuracy, profitability, and customer satisfactionConduct production and safety meetingsEducation, Experience, and Skills Required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in custom home building and remodeling, or a combination of relevant construction and operational management experience in a related fieldDemonstrated ability to lead projects and teams with professionalism, accountability, and clear communicationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilitiesExcellent attendance, punctuality, and professionalismProficient with technology (M365, Google Docs, BuilderTrend)Positive attitude and self-motivated work ethicReliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current insurance coverageCompensation
