Clinical Director
Our organization is a dedicated provider of substance use disorder and behavioral health services, focused on delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment to individuals throughout New York. We operate a fully licensed outpatient clinic and extend our services into multiple community-based settings, including New York City shelters. We are seeking a dynamic, growth-oriented Clinical Director to lead our OASAS 822 program. The Clinical Director will oversee all clinical operations across on-site and off-site locations, ensuring compliance with OASAS regulations and maintaining the highest standards of care. This individual will play a central role in shaping the future of the organization by supporting program expansion, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a professional, motivated clinical team. The Clinical Director reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as both a strategic and hands-on leader within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical supervision and leadership for all clinical staff, counselors, and peer advocates, fostering a supportive and accountable work environment.
- Oversee daily operations of both on-site and off-site program locations, including shelter-based services, ensuring consistent and coordinated care delivery.
- Interview, hire, train, and evaluate clinical staff and peer advocates, maintaining high standards of professional conduct and clinical quality.
- Ensure all documentation, notes, and treatment plans are completed accurately and submitted within the required 24-hour timeframe.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine group programming, ensuring that all sessions align with treatment goals, evidence-based practices, and OASAS requirements.
- Monitor and maintain strict compliance with OASAS 822 regulations and operational standards, ensuring programs remain in full adherence to state licensing and audit expectations.
- Conduct staff trainings and professional development sessions, promoting continued learning and growth within the clinical team.
- Collaborate closely with organizational leadership to structure, expand, and enhance program services, identifying new opportunities for impact and operational efficiency.
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to strengthen service delivery, documentation accuracy, and client outcomes.
- Maintain active communication with OASAS representatives, community partners, and other regulatory bodies regarding program updates, compliance issues, and certifications.
- Participate in executive-level planning and decision-making to align clinical operations with broader organizational goals.
- Support program budgeting and resource allocation in coordination with leadership, ensuring sustainability and alignment with client needs.
Qualifications
Licensed Clinical Professional (LCSW, LMHC, LMSW, CASAC-M, or equivalent) required, with active standing in New York State.Minimum of five years of experience in clinical leadership within an OASAS-certified substance use or behavioral health program, with specific knowledge of OASAS 822 regulations.Proven record of supervising multidisciplinary teams and ensuring timely, compliant clinical documentation.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and guide staff toward shared goals.Demonstrated experience developing and managing clinical programs, including group therapy structures and outreach initiatives.Deep understanding of New York's addiction treatment system, compliance frameworks, and regulatory expectations.Commitment to program excellence, regulatory compliance, and organizational growth.Compensation
