Bartender/Server

Shiku Sushi is currently hiring for an experienced seasonal Bartender and Server.

We are an exciting Sushi Restaurant and Cocktail lounge in the heart of the Ballard neighborhood. This is an excellent opportunity to join a great team.

We are looking for someone who will be a positive addition to our team.

We are looking for someone to work one to three bartending and / or serving shifts a week depending. You must be willing and eager to work both positions.

We are open for dinner Mon-Fri, Lunch & Dinner Sat & Sun. Shifts start at 3 : 30 pm and end around 9 : 30 pm on weekdays.

11 am to 4 pm or 4 pm to 10 : 30 pm on weekends. Candidates must be punctual, communicate and work well with others, have a good attitude and a strong work ethic.

We're a tight knit team, and have a really fun bar program.

Job Responsibilities :

Verify the customers ages

Mix traditional and house cocktails for your customers and those of your server

Process payment

Clean glasses and bar utensils

Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences

Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift

Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere

Act as a shift lead when the manager is not present

Serve anywhere between 11 and 19 seats at any given time during your shift

Provide exceptional service to all customers

Required skills :

Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding liquor

Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails

Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness

Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and be responsive

Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol

Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments

Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

MAST permit

Knowledge of sushi and sake

At least 2 years in the restaurant industry as a server, bartender, or barback is a must

Compensation :

$ - $18 / hr (DOE) + Tips (tips paid weekly)
