As one of the key leadership roles at Teva, the Senior Vice President, Head of Global Innovative Medicines will lead a matrixed team responsible for innovative medicines. The position will be responsible for the innovative medicine strategy which drives the development of the most important near- and long-term growth drivers for Teva. The Senior Vice President will be directly accountable for all evidence-generating activities both interventional and observational. The position will also have a strong voice in shaping the approach to market position, regulatory interactions, and access and reimbursement. The Senior Vice President's pipeline responsibilities involve advancing the pipeline, growing in-market products, and defending Teva's late life cycle products.
The Senior Vice President will function as the company's senior innovative medicines expert. He or she will be responsible for building strong collaborative relationships across the senior R&D, commercial and manufacturing leadership. The Senior Vice President will also serve as a key interface with the external research communities and regulatory authorities worldwide. The Senior Vice President will drive the evolution of processes and governance to support robust, cross-functional decision making, prioritization and program visibility within Teva. This position is based at our West Chester, PA site, with potential flexibility to be based at our Parsippany, NJ site or a remote arrangement for the preferred candidate.
Key responsibilities include setting the overarching R&D Innovative Medicines vision and strategy across Immunology & Neuroscience, managing and evolving the key decision-making forum Integrated Development Committee (IDC) and associated tools and processes to support robust portfolio decision making, interfacing internally and collaborating with senior leadership team members across the R&D organization and across Teva, driving the expansion of Teva's portfolios through leadership in partnership with the business development teams, interfacing externally with global key opinion leaders around scientific and clinical developments as they relate to drug development, communicating effectively with regulators, and developing and articulating Teva's mission to diverse constituencies.
Experience and key competencies include an MD or MD / PhD in a relevant biomedical or life sciences discipline, minimum of 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D, proven leadership capabilities in managing high-performing, cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment, exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, a "Doer" with a results orientation, an enterprising leader and builder, a nimble strategist, a deeply credible scientific reputation, global orientation with strong collaboration skills, a communicator who cultivates followership, and a reputation for unassailable integrity.
