About The Arc : The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men and women in their journey to complete our rehabilitation program. We are grateful for the contributions our valued employees and the diligence and devotion of its staff.

Responsibilities

  • Taking an active role and partnering with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
  • All day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Providing coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees.
  • Ensuring Customer / Donor needs are met by maintaining good Customer / Donor / Community relations; resolving complaints; and ensuring quick and efficient service.
  • Communicating personnel issues with Management in the Store Manager's absence. May issue disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations and goals as needed in coordination with HR.
  • Ensuring store is maintained to ARC merchandising standards, with adequate inventory levels on hand.
  • Back Room Processing – in absence of Store Manager, ensuring Material Handlers meet daily processing goals.
  • Managing cash at the start of each day and safeguarding cash in registers and banking of cash receipts as per policy.
  • Assisting the Store Manager in safety measures consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations.
  • Implementing appropriate loss prevention measures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management, Retail Directors and Command Administration.

    • Qualifications To Be Considered For This Position

  • High School diploma / GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years retail management / supervisory experience.
  • Ability to accurately handle POS / Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's license and provide proof of insurance.
  • Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, customers, and donors.

    • Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, merchandise carts, racks, and fixtures.
  • Ability to move product up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

    • Schedule

    Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    The Salvation Army will comply with governmental orders and contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff if required. Requests for exemptions will be considered on religious or medical grounds when available.
