Job Title : Sterilization Technician
Location : San Francisco, CA
Pay Rate : $25–28 / hour
Contract Duration : 3 months

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our clinic team. This short-term contract role is critical to maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in sterile processing and a strong understanding of infection control protocols in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Instrument Decontamination :
- Receive and clean reusable medical instruments used in routine procedures such as dermatology, podiatry, gynecology, and minor surgeries.
- Sterilization Processing :
- Operate tabletop autoclaves and other sterilization equipment. Ensure proper cycle selection, loading, and documentation for each batch.
- Inspection and Assembly :
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness and damage. Assemble procedure trays and packs based on clinic schedules and provider preferences.
- Inventory Management :
- Monitor stock levels of sterile supplies and notify clinic staff of shortages. Assist in ordering and restocking as needed.
- Documentation and Compliance :
- Maintain accurate logs of sterilization cycles, biological indicators, and equipment maintenance. Adhere to OSHA, CDC, and clinic-specific infection control standards.
- Collaboration and Communication :
- Coordinate with medical assistants and providers to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments. Communicate any delays or equipment issues promptly.
- Quality Assurance :
- Participate in routine audits and ensure all sterilization protocols are followed. Report any deviations or concerns to the clinic manager.
- Safety and Infection Control :
- Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols when handling contaminated instruments and biohazardous waste.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in sterile processing preferred.Experience in a clinic or outpatient setting strongly preferred.Familiarity with small-scale sterilization equipment and clinical workflows.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.Excellent communication and time management skills.Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled
