Job description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a key owner of our team members' experience. The HRBP provides HR support and counsel to all Bridgetown team members and leaders. The HRBP leads and coordinates the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues in conjunction with the Senior HR Manager and HR team. The individual in this position administers all benefit and leave programs and is instrumental in facilitating employee communication programs and managing internal data.

Essential Functions

  • Counsels and guides supervisors and managers in employee relations issues related to job performance, employee development, safety, disciplinary action, conflict resolution, and other confidential issues.
  • Counsels and supports employee-team members in employee relations issues related to job performance, conflict resolution, safety, disciplinary action, and other confidential issues.
  • Assists with the administration of company policies and procedures; implementing and communicating existing and new HR systems and programs.
  • Participate in and / or coordinate disciplinary / termination meetings.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims.
  • Administers leave of absence programs.
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Administers all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, accident, critical illness, 401(k), etc.
  • Manages and develops other HR team members to improve skill sets while supporting team and organization.
  • Provides benefit orientation to new team members, enrolls team members in benefit plans and assists with benefit questions.
  • Supports the organization's recruiting efforts, including participating in New Hire Orientation events and hiring events.
  • Reports and analyzes department metrics (e.g., turnover).
  • Takes immediate and appropriate action in the investigation and remedy of complaints, such as discrimination, harassment or wage / hour claims.
  • Ensures that all federal, state, and local employment regulations are followed accurately and timely.
  • Ensures records are maintained in compliance with HR practices and policies.
  • Facilitates employee communication, engagement and recognition programs and implements improvements to employee communication materials.
  • Replies to inquiries regarding employee records accurately and timely (e.g., employment verification, reference checks).
  • Coordinates special projects as assigned, including projects that move the department and company toward strategic goals.
  • Supports the company's safety efforts, practices and procedures.
  • Support and participate in employee events, recognition and training.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety issues.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or other degree related to business / human resources preferred.
  • Five years or more of HR experience, including experience in employee relations, leave administration, employee benefits, and workers' compensation required, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exemplary knowledge of current state and federal employment laws including EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication (oral / written) skills, project management and team collaboration skills.
  • Strong initiative, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability and desire to work in collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent ability to work successfully with all levels of employees / management.
  • Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English.
  • Working Conditions / Physical Factors

  • Primarily an office environment but occasionally individual is on production floor with exposure to heat, dust and allergens.
  • Work is primarily on-site with occasional remote work.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend building stairways and ramps to reach job assignments and perform tasks required in job description.
  • Position requires frequent sitting for long periods of time with occasional standing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting.
