About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President, Marketing and Communications to play a pivotal role in the institution's strategic leadership and program development. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team and ensuring a mission-aligned marketing and communications strategy that enhances the brand and institutional goals. This includes driving educational outreach, supporting revenue growth, and effectively communicating the company's scientific and environmental impact. The role also involves overseeing brand stewardship, digital strategy, and innovation, as well as managing internal and external communications, media relations, and crisis communications. The Vice President will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the President, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders to position the company as a cultural icon and a global leader in plant science and sustainability. Applicants for the Vice President, Marketing and Communications position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of senior-level experience in marketing and communications, preferably within a large cultural, educational, or nonprofit institution. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in brand management, public engagement strategy, and digital marketing, as well as a deep understanding of and appreciation for plant science, sustainability, biodiversity, or environmental education. They must be excellent communicators with strong storytelling skills, particularly in conveying scientific or technical content. The role demands a strategic thinker, a collaborative leader with high emotional intelligence, and a commitment to representing diverse voices in all communications.
