Position Overview : The Distribution Supervisor at Garrett Brands is involved in creating, developing, and maintaining a process-oriented Distribution Team driven to support the growth and execution of the expanding business activities.

This position is expected to engage with responsive and supportive customer service to our Shop Team and international partners, while also delivering efficient, accurate and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the activities of shipping and receiving, domestic and international transportation and Shop distribution of raw ingredients, finished goods packaging and shipments from our warehouse facilities to ensure effective and efficient operations.
• Processes inbound receipts of materials. Ensures that items and counts match the packing slips. All packing slips are recorded against the purchase order.
• Ensures the proper storage of materials.
• Coordinates outbound transfer orders from the manufacturing facility to retail locations.
• Oversee the maintenance and condition of company transportation vehicles.
• Ensure vehicles receive routine maintenance and remain in good working order.
• Coordinates with the Inventory and Purchasing Associate on stock levels of all raw materials and packaging supplies. Transports materials from off-site locations to the warehouse location and shop sites as needed to support current demand.
• Develop detailed and sufficient staffing plans to ensure coverage of department’s responsibilities.
• Monitor the daily production requirements, ensuring the proper staffing and support personnel are available for on time distribution of materials.
• Cross-train staff in all activities within the department, as well as in safety, quality and GMP. All daily duties should be covered in someone’s absence. Train a back-up.
• Balance workload and hours amongst staff where possible.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and recommend solutions.
• Continually identifies, recommends, and implements new procedures and systems designed to improve the shipping, receiving, and distribution functions.
• Create and maintain a continuous improvement mindset, always keeping the Garrett Brand integrity number one.
• Manages the organization, safety, and cleanliness of all warehouse locations.
• Ensures goods are stored properly and at the right temperature.
• Works closely with the Supply Chain and Marketing departments to complete and submit all international shipping documents necessary to move materials to and from overseas.
• Receiving ongoing training to comply with international shipping requirements.
• Record, photograph and communicate all inbound quality issues immediately to the supply chain team.
• Coordinates with UPS or other freight companies regarding the scheduling of outbound loads
• Correctly and accurately delegates duties to properly trained staff
• Ensuring that the activities within the department are cost effective.
• Responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment utilized in shipping / receiving.
• Meet organizational distribution / inventory goals measured by daily / weekly KPI’s.
• Support the company's policies. Support all DOT rules and regulations.
• Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
• Develop and maintain a motivated team atmosphere.
• Conduct annual performance reviews.
• Identifying training needs and execute
• Promote a team atmosphere and drive the company goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience Range : 3 to 5 years in supervising drivers, warehouse personnel or similar role.
• Education, High School Diploma, College preferred.
• Understands and has knowledge of GMP along with Food Safety.
• International freight experience.
• Experience receiving materials via a tractor trailer or sea container.
• Experience shipping materials via UPS, LTL or freight.
• Experience in scheduling daily deliveries to all retail locations and venues.
• Experience in scheduling daily workload of staff
• Supervision, leadership and organizational skills
• Great interpersonal relations and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Utilizes problem solving techniques
• Prior experience with (WMS) warehouse management system
• Self-motivated and ability to multi-task efficiently
• Creates and maintains a safe, clean work environment.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, NetSuite a plus)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.
