Position : Material Handler (2nd Shift)
Reports to : Shift Supervisor
Basic summary of the job : Unload trucks, puts stock materials away, write up all inbound material received and pulls sheet with the use of forklifts, overhead crane, or by hand.
Essential (primary) functions including but not limited to :
- Unload TBSC trucks containing pickups and returns
- Unload, color code, assign bundle numbers and store stock material
- Write up paperwork for stock material
- Pull customer sheet orders for loaders
- Report changes in length and weight to loading supervisor to assure correct billing
- Apply Buyout stickers to all Buyout material
- Report discrepancies on count or missing material to Rec Clerk or Supervisor
- Compare stainless pulling ticket backorders to incoming stock to complete orders before shipment
- Daily 5 P.M. meeting with Rec Clerk for special instructions
- Operate forklift and / or overhead crane to move materials
- Drive tractor trailers on company property
- Adhere to the Quality Policy at all times
- Follow all safety procedures
Requirements :
Necessary (required) skills :
- Must know how to read tape measure accurately
- Good basic math skills including whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
PHYSICAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, and apply all motor functions in order to perform the job. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, operate overhead cranes and forklift.
