The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) seeks a qualified individual for the Budget and Payroll Specialist (Fiscal Analyst 4) position. This role is within the Operations Division and is based out of our Tumwater Office.

About the Position

We’re looking for a Budget and Payroll Specialist (FA4) to play a key role in shaping the financial future of our agency and supporting our mission to protect consumers and regulate Washington’s insurance industry.

In this vital role, you’ll take the lead in planning, organizing, and managing agencywide accounting and business activities—particularly those related to payroll and financial operations. You’ll be a trusted financial partner to agency leadership and external partners such as the Governor’s Office and the Legislature, providing insightful analysis and data-driven recommendations that guide critical decisions.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a deep understanding of state budgeting processes. Your expertise will help ensure our resources are used effectively in support of our mission to serve Washington’s residents.

This is a Washington General Service position. The monthly salary range for this position is $5,398 - $7,254.
