About The Position

Title : Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Location : Charleston, SC

Duration : 10 weeks

Shift : Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Job Responsibilities :

Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult critical care patients in a Level I Trauma and Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

Administer therapeutic gases, medications, and mechanical ventilation in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

Perform patient assessments, monitor ventilator settings, and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and arterial blood gas results.

Manage advanced respiratory support systems including ECMO, IABP, Impella, and temporary mechanical circulatory support.

Deliver care to complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular postoperative patients, including those with heart and lung transplants or decompensated heart failure.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic charting system.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in ICUs, step-down, and acute care units to optimize patient outcomes.

Adhere to infection control, safety, and departmental policies; provide coverage during holidays and every other weekend as scheduled.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Experience :

Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (required at start)

NBRC certification as RRT (required; will consider CRT)

BLS and ACLS certifications (required)

Minimum 2 years of recent adult critical care experience (required)

Previous travel experience preferred; first-time travelers not accepted

Proficiency in ventilator management, airway care, and respiratory support in high-acuity settings

Epic charting experience preferred
