The School

The School of Engineering supports five programs, including three Bachelor of Science Programs : Energy Systems Engineering (ESE), Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME);

and two Masters of Science programs : the Engineering and Community Practice (ECP) . and the Environmental Systems . (Environmental Resources Engineering option and Energy Technology and Policy option).

Qualifications

Degree : An earned .; or . with ABD; or . or . with Professional Engineer ( license. For a limited number of courses, a .

or . along with relevant professional experience will be accepted.

Experience : Successful teaching experience and / or relevant professional experience within the last five years.

Preferred : . and ., successful teaching experience, and professional experience directly related to the course.

Position Type : Lecturer

Availability : As needed

First Review Date : Applications received by April 1st annually are given first consideration.

Salary : Dependent on qualifications and experience.

The full-time (15 weighted teaching units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules below are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six (6) monthly payments for each full semester.

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges :

$4,530 - $6,056

$5,405 - $11,994

$6,190 - $13,172

Appointees are typically placed at the beginning of the range.

Cal Poly Humboldt sits on the traditional homelands of the Wiyot people in what is currently called Arcata, CA. The Wiyot people call the area Goudi'ni (over in the woods).

The Cal Poly Humboldt campus in Northern California is in close proximity to several thriving Native American tribes and communities.

Humboldt currently has the largest percentage of Native American students in the CSU system and has over 30 Native American faculty and staff, many from local area California Indian tribes.

Cal Poly Humboldt is home to a number of leading Native American programs including the Indian Tribal Education and Personnel Program (ITEPP) and the Indian Natural Resource, Science and Engineering Program (INRSEP).

There are also many opportunities at Humboldt to conduct research, teaching and community work on Native American history and cultures, with resources in Special Collections at the Cal Poly Humboldt library.

The Humboldt Room in the Library has fantastic resources for tribally focused archive materials from the region. Humboldt strives to build a supportive and inclusive Native community and engages with Native communities through initiatives and opportunities like the annual California Indian Big Time, Indigenous People's Week, and a chance to network with other faculty and staff as part of the Cal Poly Humboldt Council of American Indian Faculty and Staff.
