To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay. Selectors are rewarded for working efficiently and with accurate results. Selectors are constantly walking, lifting, bending, and stretching. If you're into sports, cardio, strength training, weightlifting, running or bodybuilding, this job will help keep you in shape. Selectors pull products ordered by Publix stores, place them onto pallets, wrap the finished order, and get it ready to be placed on a truck for delivery. Our Warehouse Selectors are team players and instrumental in helping keep our shelves stocked in our more than 1,200 store locations.
What You Need To Succeed
Be at least 18 years old. Be able to work a rotating schedule which includes some weekends and holidays. Work fluctuating shifts, when needed. Select, lift, carry and stack product weighing up to 67 pounds for High Velocity, 67 pounds for Frozen Foods and Produce, and 85 pounds for Boxed Meat / Dairy. Stand, bend, and stoop and do repetitive work for long periods of time. Operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside of the operator compartment. Perform job duties efficiently, accurately, and safely. Read, write, and identify and verify numbers. Interpret, understand, and follow instructions and pass a Physical Agility Test, as applicable.
Work Environment
Boxed Meat / Dairy Warehouse : Temperatures could range from 35 to 28 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period of time. Frozen Food Warehouse : Temperatures could range from 0 to negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period of time. High Velocity Warehouse : Temperatures could exceed 90+ degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period of time. Produce Warehouse : Temperatures could range from 55 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period of time; also involves working in a wet environment.
