Job Title : Pharmacy Technician – REMOTE

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 8 : 00 PM CT (8-hour shifts)

Training Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM CT (6 weeks, mandatory attendance)

Location : Remote (Work From Home)

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for handling inbound calls from members, providers, and other stakeholders. This role involves assisting with the criteria-based prior authorization process, ensuring accurate documentation of all approvals and denials, and transferring all clinical inquiries to licensed pharmacists. Candidates must be able to work in a HIPAA-compliant, distraction-free environment and meet technical requirements for internet connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional phone assistance to members, providers, and others regarding prior authorizations.
• Document all interactions, approvals, and denials in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
• Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to pharmacists when appropriate.
• Utilize Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and other MS Office applications for daily communication and task completion.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance requirements at all times.
• Participate fully in mandatory training sessions to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
