CBES is seeking a Refrigeration Field Engineer / Commissioning Agent to join our Engineering Specialized Field Services Department. This role will support the installation of Refrigeration and EMS (Energy Management) systems on new construction projects and remodels. The position will be crucial in ensuring the final acceptance of Refrigeration, HVAC, and EMS systems at client sites as we complete our construction and remodel programs.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and is committed to delivering reliable commissioning and start-up support to our clients. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and experience with supermarket refrigeration, HVAC and EMS / BAS systems are essential for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Planning & Preparation
• Develop a comprehensive commissioning plan for each assigned project based on specifications from the Refrigeration, MEP, and EMS Engineering teams.
• Evaluate and document existing RHVAC and EMS systems for integration into capital projects.
• Site Work & Execution
• Conduct site visits during construction or remodel phases to inspect project progress and ensure adherence to installation and programming guidelines as per the project SOW.
• Execute on-site commissioning tasks, including point-to-point testing and verification of programming for all EMS-controlled equipment.
• Commission all HVACR equipment installed or relocated during the construction project.
• Assist with startup support on all new systems.
• Troubleshooting & Adjustments
• Implement minor control wiring and programming changes as necessary.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments on HVACR equipment.
• Act as a technical resource for all level 2 Refrigeration and EMS issues. Maintenance and installation required.
• Prepare interim commissioning reports as needed and a final report outlining any exceptions or out-of-spec conditions.
• Collaborate with the Construction Project Manager to address and rectify any identified exceptions.
