Job summary

JenJacs is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team to troubleshoot system issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure HVAC units operate efficiently and safely.

Our Commercial HVAC Technician’s jobs description involves installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in both commercial and residential settings.

Responsibilities / daily tasks

Installations (As required not daily) :

Installing new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and electrical connections.

Ensuring systems are installed according to blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.

Following checklists and safety protocols during installation.

Maintenance :

Performing routine maintenance on HVAC systems, such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels.

Inspecting systems for potential problems and performing necessary repairs or replacements.

Ensuring systems are running efficiently and meeting performance standards.

Performing seasonal changeovers (e.g., switching from heating to cooling mode).

Repair :

Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.

Repairing or replacing faulty components, such as motors, compressors, or control boards.

Performing emergency repairs as needed.

Other Responsibilities :

Maintaining accurate records of service, maintenance performed, and parts used.

Communicating about system issues, recommended repairs, and maintenance procedures.

Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

May be required to participate in on-call or after-hours emergency service.

Qualifications

Conditioned Air Contractor license Class II (Non-Restricted)

EPA Section 608 certification

5+ Years of documented commercial experience, including residential experience.

Technical Skills : Knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair, is essential.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving : The ability to diagnose and fix issues with HVAC systems is a key requirement.

Mechanical Skills : Proficiency with tools and equipment used in HVAC work is important.

Reading Technical Manuals and Schematics : Understanding technical documents is crucial for proper installation and repair.

Physical stamina and dexterity including :

Ability to work in confined spaces : This includes crawling, kneeling, and bending in areas like attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

Ability to safely lift and move equipment and components : This may require lifting up to 50 or even 75 pounds regularly.

Ability to climb and balance : This is necessary for safely ascending and descending ladders, scaffolds, and stairs while carrying equipment.

Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination : This is essential for tasks like connecting small electrical components and performing precise measurements.

Ability to stand for extended periods and tolerate varying temperatures : HVAC work may involve standing for extended durations and exposure to both hot and cold environments.

Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation.

Pay : $30.00 - $40.00 per hour Based on experience
