Position Summary :
Responsible for assisting the Hospitalist Program Officer with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the administrative and clinical aspects of the hospitalist program.
Position Requirements :
Formal Education / Training :
1. Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
2. Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee.
3. Able to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationship and apply sound administrative principles.
4. At least two years of experience in hospital health care delivery with team lead / supervisory experience.

Administrative and clinical management in Patient Care Delivery Systems
Equipment and Skills Training :
The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying medical and operational knowledge to a variety of setting. Key skills also include proficiency in Microsoft Office and Meditech EMR, strong verbal and written communication skills, great customer service, organization, multi-tasking, attention to detail, data analysis, and budget oriented. Confidence and willingness to learn and grow.
Physical Effort :
1. Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
2. Able to stand / sit / work for up to eight hours a day.
3. Able to lift / move up to 25 lbs.
Key Results :
Assists in the management of clinical and non-clinical day to day aspects of the hospitalist program.
Manages scheduling for all hospitalist-related clinical services to include responding to needs to cover vacation request, holidays, education time, call outs, vacancies in schedules and high census needs. Administers payroll, and facilitates / monitors productivity reporting.
Manages the completion of paperwork, documentation, and communication for patients / families, outside facilities, pharmacies, PCPs, and others as needed especially after discharge.
Identifies and problem solves day-to-day site operations including matters related to credentialing, human resources, recruiting, staff performance evaluations, patient grievances, etc.
Assist with the achievement of clinical outcomes and financial performance consistent with WMC objectives in such areas as documentation, coding, timely charge entry, etc. Participates in patient huddles on the nursing units.
Collects and maintains data needed by the Hospitalist Program Officer to include census, temporary labor, quality measures, financial performance and other program management parameters.
Assists the Hospitalist Program Officer in setting annual goals, objectives, forecasts, and budgets for operations.
Reviews and responds to data on census, temporary labor, quality measures, and other program management parameters. Recommends to the Hospitalist Program Officer the modification, addition, or deletion for staffing models and personnel policies to insure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide patient care coverage.
Meets regularly with the Hospitalist Program Officer to review and evaluate the hospitalist services program.
Participates in various hospital committees related to the hospitalist program as assigned by the Hospitalist Program Officer.
Insures that cordial relationships are maintained with patients, their families and friends, clergy and other interested groups in the community. Interprets the objectives of the Hospitalist Service to the community. Assists in responding to patient complaints in a timely manner.
Assists the Hospitalist Program Officer in establishing work procedures and standards to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness of the program.
Assists in maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations such as Joint Commission and CMS Conditions of Participation.
Assists with other administrative duties as needed, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, and assisting with workflows.
