Position Summary :
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use programs. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality clinical care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and advancing program development to meet community needs. The SUD Director champions culturally sensitive and evidence-based treatment approaches while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, recruit, train, and mentor clinical and administrative staff to promote professional growth and clinical excellence
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support ongoing professional development
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of SUD treatment programs to maximize effectiveness
- Develop and deliver educational curricula for substance use prevention, recovery, and related specialty programs
- Monitor program outcomes, quality metrics, and performance indicators; implement quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and maintain accreditation standards
- Manage budgets, billing, and financial planning for SUD services
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, housing providers, mental health services, and public agencies
- Represent the program in professional networks, coalitions, and advisory boards
- Oversee individualized treatment plans, client progress, and documentation to ensure positive outcomes
- Prepare reports and maintain dashboards for leadership and regulatory compliance
Qualifications :
Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) CounselorMinimum five years of experience in human services or community-based programs addressing substance use prevention and recovery, including outpatient program managementKnowledge of recovery processes, twelve-step programs, dual diagnosis treatment, and harm reduction approachesExperience in program planning, budget management, and performance trackingStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
