Aniplex of America Inc. (a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan) is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join the team located in Santa Monica, CA.

The Inventory Control Specialist will report to the division manager for planning and analysis of our and 3rd party policies and procedures as they relate to returns, inventory levels, obsolescence and surplus, and warehousing considerations of our products such as DVD / Blu-ray or merchandising items.

This role will focus on long range inventory planning and budgeting items. In addition, this position will assist with detailed projections for shipments, returns, inventory levels, and follow ups with complete analysis.

Lastly, they will prepare all monthly end reports for distribution operations with analysis and dedicate analysis with 3rd parties with respect to deletion or addition working closely with 3rd party personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform reports and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventory
  • Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity
  • Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis
  • Lead others in safe work practices, especially when in a distribution center environment
  • Monitor delivery schedule and customer orders
  • Place and receive orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • File claims when defective products are discovered
  • Coordinate with customer service and logistics departments
  • Check date-sensitive products for expiration and facilitate removal or transfer of product as needed
  • Perform process and system testing and track performance by area to locate and solve problems in data integrity, productivity, and efficiency
  • Establish trusted relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service and cost-effective deals

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bilingual preferable (English and Japanese)
  • 3 years total experience in Operations and Operations Research
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Statistics background
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (including v-lookups, pivot tables and macros)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office environments
  • Eligible to work unrestricted in the USA
