Transportation Engineer
Location: Santa Ana, CA, USA
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing communitiesthrough the application of intelligent transportation technology and solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with state, regional, and local agencies to plan, design, and implement transportation and traffic engineering projects that improve mobility, safety, and sustainability.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead or support projects involving traffic signal systems, operations, planning, and engineering — playing a key role in delivering solutions that make a measurable impact in our communities.
Lead or support transportation and traffic engineering projects involving signal timing, signal systems operations, and traffic operations analysis.
Prepare technical design plans, specifications, reports, systems engineering documentation, and budget estimates.
Coordinate directly with public agencies, clients, and partner consultants throughout project development.
Apply engineering tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS for planning and design tasks.
Participate in local travel and on-site meetings as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related discipline (required).
4+ years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering.
Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS.
Professional certifications such as PE, PTOE, IMSA, or Traffic Engineer license are desirable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships.
Base salary between $100,000–$115,000, depending on experience.
Incentive-based annual bonus.
