Junior Network Engineer

Overview

Junior Network Engineer role at CR&R Incorporated. We are seeking a motivated Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team supporting waste management operations across multiple facilities. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network systems that support critical environmental operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki solutions and have been exposed to cloud infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Infrastructure Management
• Configure, monitor, and maintain Cisco Meraki network equipment including switches, wireless access points, and security appliances
• Manage cloud-based network infrastructure and ensure optimal performance across all operational sites
• Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact operations
• Cloud Infrastructure Support
• Familiarity with managing Azure environments
• Support hybrid cloud environments connecting on-premises facilities with cloud services
• Operations Support
• Provide technical support for network connectivity issues at waste and recycle processing facilities, transfer stations, and administrative offices
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours network support
• Project Implementation
• Assist in planning and implementing network infrastructure upgrades and expansions
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for network installations and maintenance
• Documentation & Process Management
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, IP schemas, and standard operating procedures to support operational continuity and troubleshooting
• Create and manage documentation for network changes, support workflows, and compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and IT best practices
