Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Springfield, MO 65804 (Missouri nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Med / Surg Unit

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours each; 3 shifts per week

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks

Start Date : November 24, 2025

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1760 - $1890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact state)

BLS Certification required prior to first shift

ACLS Certification required prior to first shift

Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience in a Med / Surg setting

Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills

Experience supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission

Develop individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission

Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity and safety

Supervise and provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees

Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and procedures

Contribute positively to unit teamwork and maintain a safe, efficient work environment

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
