Job descriptionEnrolled as a current Springfield Public Schools student At least sixteen years of age or older Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required. Ability to read technical information and compose a variety of documents. Ability to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and / or groups. Ability to analyze issues and create action plans. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. Ability to apply critical thinking / problem solving to improve work processes. Work environment is indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to weather conditions; in proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical equipment; and in confined spaces. GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides custodial services at assigned site; ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; preparing facilities for classroom activities and campus events; and completing assignments in a safe, proper, and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cleans assigned facilities and / or grounds thereby maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive learning environment.
- Consult with administrative and other custodial personnel for the purpose of planning, prioritizing, and scheduling custodial activities and achieving site maintenance objectives.
- Inspect facilities to ensure the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, identifying necessary repairs to facilities and / or equipment, etc.
- Maintain supplies and equipment to ensure the availability of custodial items required for properly maintained facilities.
- Perform minor, job related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures to ensure proper functionality and usability of items and facilities.Replenish classroom and restroom supplies.
- Respond to immediate safety and / or operational concerns by taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Support other site maintenance staff.
- Perform other related duties as required / assigned.
