The Lead Outreach Phlebotomy Technician supports the Team Leader by coordinating the daily operations of outreach phlebotomy staff. This team supports the Sales Outreach Department within the Lab and plays a vital role in providing mobile phlebotomy services to nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and other care facilities. Team members are responsible for drawing blood, as well as picking up and delivering specimens to designated hubs located on the East Side, West Side, and Medina, with Mercy being added soon.

A caregiver in this position works MondayFriday, 4 : 00am12 : 30pm or 5 : 00am1 : 30pm with on-call weekend coverage if necessary.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Perform phlebotomy and processing duties.
• Assist with supervisory responsibilities.
• Monitor and ensure timely specimen collection and processing.
• Distribute and balance workload among traveling phlebotomists and lab processing staff.
• Facilitate development & training for new staff and peer sponsor during their new hire period.
• Assist with supervisory duties when needed.
• Participate in hiring process as well as input on employee performance, including corrective actions and evaluations.
• Assist the Team Lead in developing, training, and delivering educational programs for both the traveling outreach phlebotomy team and our Extended Care Clients.
• Build a strong working relationship with internal and / or external customers to meet their needs.
• Travel to patient locations, these include but are not limited to client's facilities, and house calls.
