:Responsible forassistingthe Survey Party Chief in managing the activities of survey throughout various job locations.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Complete tasksutilizingsurvey instruments and equipmentperthe direction of the Survey Party Chief

• Maintain and properly care for survey instruments and equipment

• Dig,spread, andlevel dirt, sand, and gravel usinga handtools

• Lift, carry, and manually transport construction materials, tools, and supplies

• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and the work area

• Mix and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools

• Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe

• Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench, and assembling sections of pipe

• Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering, andassistingin the fusing of pipe

• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

• Other unlisted duties will be assigned

• When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, mayassistin other operations asdesignatedby the supervisor

Requirements:

• At least oneyears'experience as a Survey Helper in heavy highway and bridge projects

• Previousexperience with survey instruments

• Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications

• Movethroughouta constructionjobsitewhich includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines,operatingheavy equipment, andlifting upto 50 pounds

• Comply withall safety policies,practicesand procedures. Report all unsafe activities tosupervisorand/or Human Resources.

• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

• Provide leadership to others throughexampleandsharing ofknowledge/skill.

Education:High School Diplomaor GED preferred but notrequired.

Experience:threeor more years related construction experience preferred.

Physical Activity Level:Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.

Manual Dexterity:Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Working Conditions:Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)

Work Environment:The work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
