Project Overview

Client is seeking a Senior Middleware Application Server Engineer to support and enhance enterprise middleware environments. This role begins remote and is expected to transition to onsite work around spring next year. The ideal candidate has strong system administration expertise along with development capabilities, with hands-on experience in modern cloud technologies and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Support and engineer WebSphere and WebSphere Liberty middleware environments.
Design and enhance middleware frameworks and automation.
Work across infrastructure and development teams to implement middleware services.
Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines and cloud-enabled environments.
Create automation using scripts and tools to improve deployment and management processes.

Required Qualifications

USC or GC (minimum 3+ years as permanent resident if GC).

Experience working in enterprise-scale production environments.

Ability to work EST business hours.

Must be able to transition onsite when required.

Technical Skills

WebSphere / WebSphere Liberty / Java

Ansible

AWS (preferred), Terraform

Containers

CI / CD pipelines

Shell scripting and Python

System administration background with development experience

Preferred Profile

System Administrator who also codes (not a developer trying to do sysadmin work).

Senior-level contributor comfortable designing frameworks and leading technical strategy.
