Technical Writer

Performs highly advanced (senior-level) technical writing work coordinating the composition, organization, and editing of compiled information. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may independently perform the most complex technical writing work and may prepare and refine material for speeches and public presentations.

Aid IT in documenting the environment, policies, procedures, and plans of the IT Division. Work involves conducting detailed analysis of and extensive research on data, providing results, and monitoring and implementing data quality. Develop and implement customer-centric metrics and reporting. Support performance, quality, and improvement efforts to help streamline processes through data analysis and visualization. Manage the analysis of data and embrace evaluative thinking that includes posing thoughtful questions about data, getting feedback from key stakeholders, and using data to support staff, programs, and operations.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in composing, reviewing, and editing technical documents, policy manuals, procedural documents, operational guidelines, materials, and reports. – Required- 8 years
• Previous experience researching, developing, and disseminating information on techniques for organizing and presenting policy, procedure and technical information. – Required- 8 years
• Ability to consult with technical staff in the development of documentation, policy and procedural material. – Required- 8 years
• Previous experience preparing responses to correspondence, reports, surveys, questionnaires, and other requests for information . – Required- 6 years
• Experience creating and presenting policy and procedure updates, reports, options and feedback to upper management and C Level stakeholders. – Required- 6 years
• Previous technology writing experience in the public sector – Preferred- 5Years
• Knowledge of IT policies and procedures– Preferred- 5Years
