Location : YMCA Camp Pine Crest, Torrance, Ontario (Transportation to camp is available at the beginning and end of the summer)
Work Hours : Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday Sunday, with days off predetermined by supervisor

YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focussed programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA.
Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline;
has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.
The Little Critters Director is responsible for overseeing the Little Critters Day Camp Program and supervising the Day Camp Counsellors implementing it.
Their primary responsibilities will be coordinating programming specific to campers aged 4 8, communicating with families, and ensuring consistency in delivering programming from week to week.
The Day Camp Director works with their groups and other departments at camp to create schedules for Little Critters that ensure equipment and program spaces are available and maintained.
The Day Camp Director will take the lead on welcoming and building relationships with families, taking daily attendance, and running the value-beads program at the end of each day.
This person will balance their time between working with children, families and staff to ensure that everyone involved in the Little Critters Day Camps has a fun and rewarding experience.
In this role, you will :
- Coordinate with the program director to plan all little critter programs.
- Supervise and help provide leadership to camp staff team by training, coaching, motivating, monitoring performance and providing mid and end of summer performance appraisals
- Support campers and their families for any asistsance
- Participate in their staffs programming to help ensure dynamic, fun and safe programs.
- Continuously builds relationships with members, staff, volunteers and community partners.
- Be responsible for overseeing the Little Critters Day Camp program, coordinating programming specific to campers aged 4 8, communicating with families, and consistency in delivering programming from week to week.
- Work with their groups and other departments at camp to create schedules for Little Critters that ensure equipment and program spaces are available.
- Be Responsible for the value-beads program at the end of each day.
- Performs duties as assigned.
You bring :
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a child-oriented programs
- Current NLS, by first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of your contract
- Minimum 1 year’s previous experience as a supervisor (i.e. Counselling Supervisor) in a directly transferable setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead and empower an inclusive staff team
- Demonstrated ability to lead and empower an inclusive staff team
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and be authorized to work full time hours (40 hours per week)5 hours per week

- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Ability to deliver feedback in a timely, professional, and constructive manner
