We are looking for an Experienced Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team to take their career to the next level. A current Radiology Certification for the State of Maryland, CPR certification, and proof of COVID-19 Vaccination are required. Medical or religious vaccine exemptions are approved by UMC Campus.

Description

• Seat and prepare patients for exams / procedures
• Assist Surgeons chairside during procedures when needed
• Assist Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontist chairside when needed
• Discharge patients with the appropriate post-op instructions
• Responsible for all post-op calls / status documentation
• Taking patient vitals and documenting in EPIC software
• Expose diagnostic radiographs and CBCT
• Prepare clinical rooms with the appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and medications prior to exams / procedures
• File charts and paperwork
• Scan charts / documents
• Ordering Supplies
• Ordering Implants
• Process instrumentation in accordance with sterilization protocols
• Perform all required testing and maintenance of equipment to meet the necessary licensing and infection control standards
• Maintain exam rooms, operatories and lab daily to ensure all areas are clean and fully stocked
• Complete pathology paperwork and deliver to the appropriate Pathology Department
• Take and pour models
• Appointment Scheduling
• Answer phones, respond to clinic voice messages
• Strictly adhere to HIPAA standards in the protection of patient personal information
• Provide support to the senior assistants as needed
• Cross-trained for insurance follow up and front desk responsibilities
