Overview
As a Physician specializing in Radiology - Mammography, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases.
This position is crucial in providing accurate and timely interpretations of mammograms, ultrasounds, and other breast imaging studies, contributing to the overall health and well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI studies.
- Perform image-guided breast biopsies and other interventional procedures.
- Provide consultation to referring physicians and communicate imaging results effectively.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences to discuss treatment plans for breast cancer patients.
- Stay updated with advancements in breast imaging techniques and technologies.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of all mammography reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with technologists to optimize imaging protocols and patient care.
- Contribute to educational and research initiatives within the radiology department.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient care.
- Adhere to safety regulations and radiation protection guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of residency training in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Fellowship training in Breast Imaging or Mammography.
- Board certification in Radiology and Mammography.
- Licenses to practice medicine and prescribe medications.
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and performing breast imaging procedures.
- Proficiency in using PACS, RIS, and other radiology information systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- Compliance with ethical and professional standards.
- Understanding of patient privacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
