As part of our strategic expansion plan, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Finance Director.
The Finance Director holds primary responsibility for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role works closely with executive leadership, functional leaders, and department heads to provide insight into past financial performance, ensure integrity of current reporting, and advise on strategies to strengthen the Company's financial position.
Key responsibilities include managing the business unit month-end and year-end close processes, directing the preparation of operating and capital budgets, overseeing plan-to-actual variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The Finance Director will also lead business unit process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
In addition, this role supports Strategic Business Unit (SBU) leaders by providing clear, data-driven analysis, integrating financial, statistical, and operational data to guide decision-making. The Finance Director serves as a business partner to leadership, helping identify opportunities for improvement, mitigating financial risk, and aligning the accounting function with broader corporate objectives.
Finance Director Typical Duties Include, but Are Not Limited To :
Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and P2P processes at the business unit level in alignment with company policies.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies.
- Direct the monthly close, consolidation, and reporting cycle with a strong focus on accuracy, transparency, and financial integrity.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets, improve audit readiness, and ensure reporting accuracy.
Financial Analysis & Strategic Support
Perform rigorous financial analysis, including budget / forecast variances, identifying root causes, and corrective actions to improve operating results. Advanced forecasting to including sales pipeline, pricing / bid analysis, and cost drivers.Build and refine forecasting models and reporting tools that provide leadership with actionable insights into budget adherence, profitability, and resource allocation.Design and deliver new decision-ready reports that equip senior management with meaningful financial insights.Advise executive leadership on key KPIs tied to operational efficiency, fleet and labor utilization, and overall financial health.Operational & Business Support
Serve as a strategic partner to department heads and SBU leaders, providing financial guidance that balances discipline with operational needs.Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to highlight risks, opportunities, and operational drivers impacting financial performance.Lead cross-functional initiatives of strategic importance, including process automation, system upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and field finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and professional growth.Set clear goals, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement across accounting operations.Promote collaboration and strong communication across finance and operational teams.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree, MBA, or CPA designation strongly preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including 3 5 years in a leadership capacity.Strong knowledge of GAAP, with expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.Proven success in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning.Construction industry experience preferred.Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff, fostering excellence, accountability, and continuous growth.Skilled at deploying policies and procedures while building collaborative relationships across the organization.Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting systems, along with advanced Excel and analytical skills.Highly detail-oriented and well organized, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence executive-level decision-making.Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
