Registered Nurse, PAT

Townsen Memorial is hiring for a Full-Time Registered Nurse PAT for our Houston, Texas 77027 location.

SUMMARY :

The Registered Nurse, PAT is responsible for coordinating the pre-admission testing (PAT) and interview / assessment process for patients scheduled to undergo an invasive or surgical procedure. Communicates with providers and / or their respective office staff as indicated regarding patient testing results to optimize the patient’s condition prior to surgery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Ensures supplies and equipment needed are available and in good working order
• Explains nursing procedures and actions taken to help reduce anxiety
• Assesses patient’s physical and mental status
• Documents patient care delivered, accurately in the medical record
• Implements doctor’s orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinates patient care; provides explanations and teaching to patient / family
• Plans for routine events and anticipates / prevents and manages / evaluates emergent situations
• Adapts to unexpected changes
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical / health care errors.
• Participates in performance improvement activities
