SECURITY

BIG ISLAND CANDIES is seeking an additional SECURITY to be an Aloha Ambassador at our Hilo location.

Assist SECURITY Team with loss prevention primarily through access control and overall security protection of employees, customers and property. Provide security presence as a visible deterrent to crime, accidents and rules infraction. Detect and report unsafe, criminal and suspicious activity which may pose a threat to employees, customers and property. Maintain compliance of safety and security protocols in accordance with Big Island Candies guidelines, policies and procedures.

Essential Duties include :

• Compliance with Big Island Candies' Confidentiality Agreement.
• Comply and uphold Company house rules, policies and procedures.
• Observes and reports activities and incidents on Big Island Candies property; also immediate adjacent properties providing safety and security of property and personnel.
• Assist in identifying high risk areas and initiates actions to reduce risk exposures.
• Make regular foot patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control apparatus.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives pertaining to personnel, visitors and premises.
• Controls access to facility through the admittance process.
• Record daily employee attendance on department rosters.
• Patrols assigned buildings, materials, and vehicles checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations; blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Protects evidence or scene or incidents in the events of accidents, injuries emergencies, or security preliminary investigations.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other emergencies, consistent with Big Island Candies Emergency Action Plan.
• Prepare and submit daily logs and / or reports.
• Maintain regular and immediate communication with Building & Resource Manager and in his absence the COO / CFO any urgent security concerns requiring actions or notification and Human Resources, regarding personnel when relevant.
• Maintain security priorities for access and patrols and other duties / projects as assigned.

Skills, qualifications, attributes and certifications include :

Work Hours : Will be required to work in various shifts during normal, extended and seasonal operations. This may include evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts. Days off may vary week to week.
