The Fire Protection Engineer designs and implements fire protection alarm and suppression systems to ensure safety and compliance with fire safety regulations in various environments. The Engineer will work closely with architects, engineers, and builders to integrate fire protection systems into building designs during the construction phase.

Responsibilities :
- Perform calculations and design fire alarm, fire suppression, and life safety systems.
- Prepare specifications based on design.
- Review design drawings in relation to plans and specifications.
- Analyze potential fire hazards in buildings and new designs, providing recommendations.
- Ensure all fire protection systems meet local, state, and federal fire codes and standards.
- Stay updated on fire safety technologies and techniques, conducting experiments and field tests to evaluate new systems and materials.
- Meet with owners to understand project requirements.
- Travel : 10% to project sites for surveys and meetings.
- Utilize fire protection design software and demonstrate knowledge of building codes.
- Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Maintain excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications / Prior Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 5 years' experience in fire protection engineering or related discipline.Proficiency in fire protection design software and knowledge of building codes.PE license preferred.The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job.
