Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Project-Based Construction Safety Professional to oversee and implement all safety-related activities for specific construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety among all personnel on site. This role requires hands-on involvement and the ability to adapt safety programs to the specific needs of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce project-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions for project personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.
- Collaborate with project management to integrate safety planning into project schedules and workflows.
- Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, reports, and OSHA logs.
- Ensure emergency response plans are in place and understood by all personnel.
- Act as the primary safety contact on the project site, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to supervisors and workers.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, with project-based experience strongly preferred.OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification required; CSP, CHST, or other safety certifications preferred.Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant regulations.Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Bilingual in Spanish and EnglishAbility to work in a dynamic construction environment and adapt to multiple projects.Physical Requirements :
Ability to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working at heights.Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and wearing required safety equipment.
