We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a healthcare organization in Memphis, TN. This role involves managing accounting systems, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reports to support strategic decision-making. The Controller will collaborate closely with senior leadership to maintain financial integrity and drive operational efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll, purchasing, and accounts payable.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements in adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard financial accuracy and compliance.
- Work with leadership to create budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, providing insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Analyze financial performance, physician productivity, and departmental profitability to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, offering training, guidance, and regular performance evaluations.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, acting as a primary contact for auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements by preparing accurate reports and filings.
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to protect organizational assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a healthcare or medical practice setting.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in preparing financial reports, including month-end and year-end statements.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop accounting teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate financial performance and recommend strategic improvements.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
