Role Summary
The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations of a plumbing crew on active job sites. This role ensures that all assigned work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Foreman acts as the liaison between the crew and the Superintendent and is accountable for compliance with project plans, codes, and safety expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and assist the crew in performing plumbing tasks on the job site.
Ensure all assigned work meets or exceeds quality standards and follows applicable plumbing, mechanical, and ADA codes.
Be accountable for the safety of the crew and enforce all required safety and operational protocols mandated by the company and the general contractor.
Review and interpret project drawings, submittals, and specifications to guide layout, fixture rough-in, and installation.
Maintain consistent communication with the Superintendent to report any issues related to labor, materials, scheduling, or site conditions.
Participate in hands-on work alongside the crew to ensure productivity and foster teamwork.
Estimate labor needs and adjust work assignments to maintain schedule adherence.
Track labor hours, complete weekly reports, plan upcoming tasks, and conduct safety toolbox talks and site inspections.
Train and mentor crew members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
Coordinate materials, equipment, and tool needs to maintain job site efficiency.
Own and bring required hand tools as outlined in the company's plumbing tool list.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plumbing Superintendent.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing.
Completion of a registered apprenticeship and journeyman-level experience required.
Medical Gas Certification is a plus.
Solid understanding of submittals, blueprints, and layout techniques.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and applicable codes, including ADA requirements.
Must be capable of managing multiple priorities while ensuring safety and quality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work with construction schedules and planning tools.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Dependable transportation and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in trenches.
Must be capable of working overtime as needed.
Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolds, and man lifts when required.

Physical Requirements
Must have good vision (naturally or corrected) and be able to hear and speak clearly with professional grammar.
Full use of hands, fingers, arms, and legs; ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance on ladders and scaffolds, climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift, and stoop.
This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
