Position : Production Team Leader

Responsible for leading a group of employees in support of the production activities of the organization under demands of production quotas and deadlines. The department is structured as a formal team and requires the ability to work within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead a group of employees, oversee work activities, and engage in various forms of communication and judgment.
• Train employees in proper procedures and job skills.
• Maintain quality standards for all parts produced.
• Perform manual repairs using various hand tools and other devices, and / or relieve employees who are working on the line.
• Input and / or look up data on the computer and or in files or other documents to maintain paperwork and reporting requirements of the job.
• Perform quality-related activities including but not limited to reading gages, or other devices, process verification, etc.
• Diagnose minor equipment failures or machine jams.
• Perform inventory and cycle counts as directed by supervision.
• Assign work to employees at the start of each shift, and / or communicate various other information. required to ensure smooth production.
• Ensure employees comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform basic housekeeping to keep the area clean and safe.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position leads a group of assembly operators and is responsible for the performance management within that group.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on the plant floor.
