Aviation Quality Conformance Manager III
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized aviation Quality Conformance Manager III to join the A220 Quality Customer Line team. This role will be critical in monitoring full adherence to the various manufacturing and quality processes within our facility to ensure compliance with the stringent quality and regulatory standards in the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will be a leader and technical expert who is passionate about process confirmation, audit and assessment, and operational surveillance. This role is responsible for identifying potential process gaps and improvement opportunities in order to secure our manufacturing environment and ensure our aircraft are manufactured in accordance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and internal processes.
You will facilitate and contribute to full adherence of the processes in our facility to secure compliance to our Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS). To accomplish this, you will conduct internal audits and operational surveillance. You will be required to create quality presentations to communicate results and trigger corrective action plans.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for the A220 QMS, SMS, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) programs.
Primary Responsibilities :
Quality Management Systems : Manage QMS, SMS, and FOD programs, and provide strategy and guidance to other functions.
External & Internal Audit : Serve as the A220 Mobile Quality focal point for interfacing with Transport Canada (TCCA) for external audits, and management of corrective actions with the action owners. Manage and execute internal audit and operational surveillance plans.
Practical Problem Solving : Coordinate corrective and preventative actions with MFT members to ensure effective implementation. Develop and improve quality standards based on feedback from audit and surveillance findings.
Project Management : Lead or support A220 transformational projects at site level and conducted in collaboration with Airbus Canada and Airbus Central Quality Teams in Europe.
Training and Support : Provide guidance and training to staff on proper regulatory requirements, quality management procedures, and problem solving.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement : Prepare reports for senior management, regulatory bodies, and auditors. Lead continuous improvement efforts for quality conformance systems and processes.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 5 years experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering / methods, or a similar role within the aviation industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities :
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of aviation Quality Management Systems, Safety Management Systems, and FOD programs, preferably in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of audit procedures and operational surveillance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal teams through all levels of the organization and functions.
Strong project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated proficiency with practical problem solving (PPS), and ability to direct and facilitate PPS, and track progress to completion.
Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), and Paretos.
High degree of flexibility and initiative.
Ability to independently develop, communicate, and recommend change to processes and procedures.
Ability to manage your individual development plan and skills maturity.
Licensure / Certifications :
Certifications in quality management, aviation safety, or regulatory compliance preferred, but not required.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages) :
Effective verbal and written communication skills, specifically in English, which is required for operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.
Technical Systems Proficiency :
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
Travel Required :
Periods of infrequent travel. Up to 10% domestic and international.
