Your Role on the Team

Duties include, but are not limited to :

Review job descriptions, leave requests, and personnel actions for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with UC policies, CA employment laws, and collective bargaining agreements.

Conduct compensation and cost analyses during final offer stages by evaluating experience, job scope, and budget to ensure fair and equitable pay recommendations.

Administer and oversee HR transactions in UCPath, including payroll changes, leave actions, and employment updates, while directing employees for confidential leave processing.

Serve as an HR resource to staff and supervisors by interpreting policies, responding to contract / union questions, and escalating complex matters to the Director of HR as needed.

$31.47 / hour (within range of $31.47 / hour - $37.38 / hour).

Required :

Strong knowledge of California employment laws, leave administration, and union contract interpretation, with the ability to review and verify complex HR information.

Experience in Higher Education HR and working with bargaining units; must be comfortable advising on policy, leaves, and job documentation.

Proficiency reviewing job descriptions, analyzing compensation, and working within organizational budget constraints.

Hands-on experience with HRIS transactions and accuracy auditing (UCPath experience strongly preferred).

• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

Preferred :

Prior HR experience in the UC system or similar public higher education environment.

Familiarity with systems such as UCPath, Sedgwick, and union contract platforms.

Strong analytical, communication, and confidentiality skills, with the ability to provide professional guidance to stakeholders.

Experience supporting compensation, payroll, recruitment, and leave workflows in a mid-to-large HR organization.
