About The Position

Description :

All modules must be completed prior to arrival.

Traveler will be pushed back if all modules are not completed.

No exceptions will be made.

Three or more years of experience is required.

Candidates must attach a copy of certifications.

No first-time travelers.

The emergency department has approximately 270-320 visits per day, with busy days reaching 350.

It is a non-trauma center with 62 beds plus hallways beds / chairs.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4.

Charge nurses are present on both shifts and may not take patients unless absolutely necessary.

The department has approximately three ER techs per shift to assist with EKGs and vital signs.

Weekend requirement is every other weekend, with two out of three major holidays expected.

Scrub color is navy blue.

Telehealth is conducted via Phillips and must be interpreted by nursing staff.

The department may encounter vented patients while awaiting respiratory therapy, which operates 24 / 7.

Pharmacy services are also available 24 / 7.

There is no on-call requirement.

Shifts include 7 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM, all of which are 12-hour shifts.

There is no floating to other units.

Maximum floor-specific orientation is two shifts.

Common diagnoses include pediatric patients (ages 0-12), critical care situations, CVA, STEMI, sepsis, and ICU admissions.

The emergency department is divided into two sections and runs with two charge nurses.

There is a large volume of paramedic and nursing students rotating through the department, including student nurse externs.

A triage nurse will be present during peak times.

The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
