Receptionist

Responsibilities

• Accurately and promptly route telephone calls to the appropriate agency personnel.
• Greet customers, vendors, contractors, job applicants, and other visitors, ensuring their presence is monitored in the lobby to uphold visitor satisfaction and maintain security protocols.
• Maintain an updated understanding of agency operations, procedures, and schedules to effectively assist callers and visitors.
• Keep precise records of telephone communications and visitor interactions.
• Oversee security measures by issuing visitor badges.
• Perform routine clerical tasks, including mail delivery, errands, and keyboarding, as assigned to support departmental efficiency.
• Ensure the reception area is safe and orderly.
• Contribute to collaborative team efforts and initiatives.
• Undertake additional related duties as assigned.

Required Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
• A minimum of one year of experience in a receptionist role or similar position involving frequent public interaction.
• Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in greeting visitors and answering phones courteously to deliver prompt and accurate assistance.
• Capability to interact effectively with staff and the public, providing courteous responses in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow both oral and written instructions diligently.
